AIDS Organisation Manager: “Gates Has Created a Huge Blood-Buying Operation That Only Cares About Money, Not About People”

Seattle

Summary: Mr. Gates' needle business comes under attack from the very same people he purports to be helping

YESTERDAY we wrote another long post about the Gates Foundation, showing quite clearly that it is used for creating or supporting more monopolies under the guise of "charity".

We previously gave examples where Bill Gates is using AIDS to sell Windows. The company he co-founded, Microsoft, used AIDS to promote Windows Vista [1, 2] while he himself used malaria to shrewdly attack GNU/Linux.

The New York Times (NYT) has just published this article which contains accusations coming from the mouths of those most closely involved.

“Gates has created a huge blood-buying operation that only cares about money, not about people,” said Ma Tiecheng, who runs a seven-year-old AIDS organization in the northwest city of Shenyang. “I’ve seen people getting four H.I.V. tests a day.”

[...]

Dr. Yip, who is the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention office in China, embraces the Gates Foundation’s philosophy of bold initiatives and risk taking — traits often lacking in government-run global health behemoths. He said that if some of the money ended up in the pockets of corrupt officials running fake organizations, it was the cost of doing business in China, where government malfeasance is endemic.

“We don’t expect every grant in every city to be spectacularly successful,” he said. “That’s like buying 30 stocks and expecting them all to go up.”

This NYT quote confirms what needs to be highlighted more often than not. Melinda and Bill Gates will carry on with the the whole children-hugging routine, but it is obviously a gesture done for the cameras. For such charlatans there is a lot more at stake, but their immense PR effort is effective at hiding it with spin and self censorship. Here, for example, is the 'Microsoft press' pretending that Microsoft has changed. Doug Barney tells the usual storyline ("new Microsoft"), but it begins correctly and mentions Novell too:

As Microsoft picked off companies like Novell, WordPerfect and Netscape in the '80s and '90s, its public image suffered. Redmond was the evil empire, reducing consumer choice by putting key vendors out of business.

Interestingly, this was all on Bill Gates' watch.

Is it not astonishing that the same man who was responsible for many offences is now a hero in some people's minds? PR goes a long, long way. It's just a matter of how much money is spent on PR. Vista 7 is one example.
