- Dell UK launches systems with preinstalled Ubuntu Linux
- PC with Windows XP can shift to Ubuntu
Ubuntu might be something that I may be interested in using, but I have Windows XP SPII and I was wondering if I would need to remove that from my computer in order to gain an advantage from Ubuntu, or if I could keep Windows on my computer.
- A Windows, Linux and OSx86 Capable Desktop Computer?
- The open source jobs boom
Demand for Linux server skills grew by only 18 percent -- but as you'd expect that segment has far more postings than any other. Similarly, JavaScript and Perl, which have been popular for some time, grew slowly but from a large base.
- Building an HPC Linux cluster has gotten simpler, Beowulf leader say
Donald Becker, an MIT grad who in the 1990s pioneered high-performance computing (HPC) with commodity components, returned to his alma mater recently to update the Boston Linux & Unix User Group (BLU) on the state of HPC and his work to make Linux clusters more powerful, more user-friendly and easier to manage.
- Review: Think small with Linutop 2
Shipped from Paris, the Linutop 2 costs $440 plus $40 for delivery and arrives in about a week. Linutop 2 will never be a performance PC for video editing, CAD or gaming, but is perfect for most office and personal uses that don't require Windows software. Neither too big, nor too small, Linutop 2 is just right.

- SuperTux, the Greatest Linux Game of All Time
If you ask my 3 year old son what's his favorite Linux game of all time, he would start hopping and say SuperTux in a loud and superhero-like voice.
[...]
SuperTux is a highly addictive game that both young and old can truly enjoy. Kids will love it for its colorful graphics, easy game controls, and super cute penguin. The not-so-old will like SuperTux for its fast-paced action, secret levels, and super cute penguin. So why wait? Fire up that package manager of yours and go get SuperTux now!
- Introduction to Linux: Desktop Environments
You undoubtedly notice that, although the functionality seems to overall be similar (with a few minor exceptions), everything seems to use a different name and/or is in a different place. If you've explored more than one distribution, this may even seem to be the case between Linux distributions. I'll be covering the more mainstream desktop environments, as well as suggested programs to replace the ones you've come to rely on in Windows.

He added that Microsoft “must continue to compete against Linux in key workloads such as web servers and high performance computing” in the business and enterprise space.
