EPO Staff Union Takes the EPO 'to Court' (the ILO's Tribunal, as the EPO Cannot be Taken to a Proper Court)

Video download link

Summary: The Staff Union of the EPO (SUEPO) Committees are preparing a legal battle over unlawful and unjust measures taken collectively against hard-working (overworked during pandemic) members of staff; the European public should support them

THE bizarre EPO is basically above the law. You can't really take the EPO or António Campinos to court. They're magically immune! And if they illegally grant lots of European software patents, all one can do is protest in the streets. And they won't care...

"Staff can see whose interests are served."This is partly the fault of Germany. It created a monster and it's unwilling to get this monster under control. EPO corruption is OK as long as allowing that corruption to carry on helps the German government cover up its own corruption scandals. Absurd, right?

In any event, recently we learned about mass action against the SAP (over 1,200 people on the payroll/pension) and earlier today a letter was circulated "Challenging the New Career System & the Abolition of the Invalidity Lump Sum in front of ILOAT," stating that they're "Preparing the required annexes now" (they prepare another mass action).

Challenging the New Career System and the Abolition of the Invalidity Lump Sum in front of ILOATSUEPO members were told: "At the beginning of February, Mr Campinos issued rejection decisions on appeals against two majors reforms of his predecessor in 2015: the New Career System and the Abolition of the Invalidity Lump Sum [...] The appellants affected should now challenge both matters in front of ILOAT in the first days of May. SUEPO is currently finalizing template complaints to be distributed to all of its members in due time. We strongly recommend you to start gathering the required annexes now and to have them ready. This publication explains you how."

Notice how nothing really improved since Benoît Battistelli had left. We have been seeing exacerbation over time and last year confidence levels or trust in António Campinos (among staff) were an appalling 3%, based on a survey. It won't take long before that's 0% (just like Battistelli). Staff can see whose interests are served.
