The Register MS Promotes Microsoft Slop, Assumes All Readers Use Microsoft Windows

The Register US or The Register MS is not the site it used to be. The leadership and the editors changed. Today it is promoting slop, it is promoting Microsoft a lot, and the new (or making-a-comeback) staff is connected to Microsoft. We've named several already.

Consider the "US editor" of The Register MS. He came less than a month ago from another publisher (in the US) and 85% of his articles... are Microsoft. Including the latest. This Microsofter in The Register ASSUMES everyone runs WINDOWS, then promotes Microsoft slop^*. It should be noted all the top news in the front page of The Register right now (in the carousel on the left; right now!) are Microsoft and "open" "hey hi" (AI) stories.

I refreshed the front page again and got the screenshot above. Microsoft really dominates the site.

If The Register MS goes downhill fast, it'll only be fair to blame those who run and manage it. █
