Summary: The EPO, which grants lucrative 'pandemic monopolies', is saving costs (reducing expenses) by lowering salaries while turning people's homes into improvised 'offices'; in other words, the pandemic is being exploited by EPO raiders; they're using it to increase profits and reduce Office expenses (at staff's expense) in defiance of staff's wishes
The subject was mentioned here several times earlier this month (at least thrice [
1,
2,
3]). We don't want to risk repeating what was already said. "Despite our submissions," says the Central Staff Committee (CSC), "the administration has not brought any of the proposed amendments to the Circular." The
document [PDF]
is dated yesterday and it's 11 pages in length. As usual, the meeting with Staff Representatives (SRs) is intended to only give a false illusion --
fiction to put it another way -- that there's staff involvement in decision-making. There's no dialogue, it's just theatrics. The document contains quite a few tables, so we're not converting the PDF into simplified HTML this time around.
A video will soon follow (it takes hours to transcode and upload).

“Staff at the European Patent Office went on strike accusing the organization of corruption: specifically, stretching the standards for patents in order to make more money.
“One of the ways that the EPO has done this is by issuing software patents in defiance of the treaty that set it up.”
