Rotating hype and vapourware

In the news today:

First came the smart
It was just a meaningless brainfart

Then came "4IR" IoT
Which is what everything would be

Metaverse came along
It very quickly went wrong

Blockchains had made promises
NFTs showed rapid losses and compromises

Cloud was all the rage
Servers hype for a new age

Serverless came and went
Server without server isn't what they meant

"GenAI" was all about "investment"
It was good for nothing but misinformation and lousy entertainment

Quantum comes next (or soon)
Will it be bust or boon? █
