Lies That Wikipedia Tells

Recent: Wikipedia taking shrewdly-euphemised bribes from Microsoft and from Bill Gates [1, 2] (among many others, mostly rich people)

Wikipedia still can't be sold.Today: (archived copy as an example)

[They already got sold] 26 December: Wikipedia still can't be sold. We're sorry we've asked you a few times recently, but it's Tuesday, 26 December, and it will soon be too late to help the nonprofit behind Wikipedia in this end-of-year fundraiser in the UK. Wikipedia is free and doesn't rely on ads. Just 2% of readers donate, so if Wikipedia has given you £2 worth of knowledge, please give. Any contribution helps, whether it's £2 or £25.

Buy your "shares" of Wikipedia today!

I saw a few more variants. It changes over time and stops if you click a button/combination of things, either based on browser-site cookies or IP address tracking. Wikipedia wants people to think it is unbiased and not taking bribes from oligarchs (but it does).

Wikipedia: The 'pedia' any pedo can pay to influence

Wikipedia: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Wikipedia in 2023 is not Wikipedia in 2003. Don't let them sell the old nostalgia of being edited by members of the public and domain experts.

Wikipedia today is dominated by PR firms and companies writing articles about themselves and/or their key staff. It's basically the advertising space anyone can edit/censor.

Jimmy Wales exploits Christmastime to sell the lie of a poor Wikipedia while he takes money from oligarchs (with strings attached).

Wikipedia is nowadays swimming in money. Wikipedia doesn't need the random citizens' donations because Wikipedia is already bought and paid for by the likes of Bill Gates.
