EPO Leak: Staff Representatives for Munich, Haar and Brussels Explain How the EPO Reduces Examiners' Salaries (While Breaking the Law to Profit From Illegitimate Patents)

Old Box Of Ammunition

Patent examiners, whose job was originally meant to obstruct invalid monopoly requests, have become patent fodder, pressured to do illegal things for minimal rewards. Professional integrity is under attack, as all along intended by managers who misuse their authority for personal gain at Europe's expense.

The EPO's Local Staff Committee Munich (LSCMN), with Haar and Brussels added (the EPO sent staff to exile in an act of collective punishment and it lobbies the EU in Brussels to play along with illegal policies) had a General Assembly on Wednesday the 24th of January, i.e. less than a fortnight ago.

One of the topics covered was workers' salary in 2024. The Salary Adjustment Procedure (SAP), which in effect became a mechanism for reducing workers' salary (relative to purchasing power) as they get more senior/experienced, was covered as well

Today we share 11 presentation slides (all bar last are laid out below, as names and faces are shown) and they should be easy to follow because they contain charts and the English is simple (to most of the target audience English is just a second or third language):

Benoît Battistelli and António Campinos have long worked to demoralise the staff and make it more afraid, stressed, obedient - to the point where staff simply obeys illegal instructions, including granting of software patents. Leaks are imperative in this case because there's no oversight and the public must know what goes on behind the scenes, so to speak.
