Journalist Who Won Awards for His Coverage of the Julian Assange Ordeals Excluded and Denied Access to Final Hearing
One can speculate about the true reason/s
THREE days ago Mr. Kevin Gosztola, an award-winning journalist who often attends Assange hearings, said "British High Court Denies Access To Upcoming Assange Hearing (weird!!!).
To quote some bits: (pay close attention to the day of the order)
In an order issued on May 13, the court indicated that it had considered “each individual request to attend the hearing by videolink” and that each individual who “requested to attend would be informed of the court’s decision and reasons.”A staff member representing the administrative office of His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service notified me nearly a day later that my request for a videolink was denied because I “will not be in England and Wales at the time of the hearing.”
“There are legal restrictions on attendance at a remote hearing which cannot be enforced by the court if the attendee is not within the court's jurisdiction. It is not in the interests of justice to grant this request,” the His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service staff member added.
So this order came only a week beforehand. Maybe that's one way to manipulate media coverage, eliminating "unwanted" views on the case.
So what's the issue here??? The cost of bandwidth? █
