The Campaign to 'End' Richard Stallman - Part I - Two Canceled Talks in a Row?

RMS has left Europe, so the concept of "delayed" talk is facetious or deeply cynical

It has now been exactly two weeks since Dr. Stallman's "delayed" talk, which had been entitled "Logiciel libre et liberté dans une société numérique" and never actually happened (this page has not been updated for at least a fortnight).

We deliberately delayed this series pending confirmations, which we finally have.

Prior to that there was "El software libre, libertad, y sociedad" in Spanish. That page still says: "Esta conferencia ha sido cancelado. Si Usted participa en el evento del cual mi conferencia habría hecho parte, y si querría atenderla, por favor dígales a los organizadores del evento que la cancelación lo ha puesto triste, y pídales tomarlo en cuenta. Saberlo los ayudará en el futuro."

We wrote about it back then and that coverage reached quite far. Some people even made videos on this topic ("RMS (Richard Stallman) and Cancel Culture - Lugcast Clips Ep. 244"). What we'll show later in this series is a campaign of censorship against such videos, or persistent bullying that resulted in self-censorship. Bear with us as there's a lot of material pertaining to that and we've identified some culprits.

Face In The Hands

"As for RMS's postponed speech in France," one person told me this week, "ISTM that you got the idea that it was a short-term postponement. I don't have the details, but I know [RMS] flew back to the US shortly after that date, so my guess is that the postponement was not meant as "let's give it a few more days", but rather "let's reschedule it at another time, and then we'll bring you over (again?)."

"I don't think he needs to rehearse his speeches in French. I don't speak much French myself, but I've seen him carry out conversations in French very fluently.

Published a day ago was an article about a serial defamer (including defamer of RMS) trying to censor everyone whom he despises. In this series, which may last about a week, we'll try to explain the key factors and principal actors.

This IBM/GAFAM-funded and GAFAM-led mob campaign (IBM and Apple employee spearheaded it) did not fully succeed, but they didn't "finish the job..."
