The 'Nobody Reads Techrights Anyway' Crowd

Send In the Clowns

Clown heckles/Sketch color clown mask

THERE are poison pens, malicious trolls, and evil tongues out there who try to demoralise and belittle us (whilst at the same time trying very viciously to derail us). They sort of contradict themselves as on the one hand they argue that this site doesn't matter and nobody reads it anyway, whereas on the other hand they panic about what the site publishes and start lying to webhosts (they even create sockpuppets to fake complaints) in miserable efforts to deplatform.

Techrights started as a site called Boycott Novell. That was in 2006. Prominent GNU/Linux developers have since told us that it was us who took down the beast (Novell) and the CEO of Novell sent lawyers our way, trying in vain to censor us (lawyers never managed to censor anything in this site).

The reason Techrights succeeds and even thrives is that many people out there value honest, uncensored (not even self-censored) opinions and analyses. Techrights does not need to do "outreach" in social control media (waste of time) and it does not waste resources on ads. It never did. Even without all this pseudo-social nonsense we're attracting requests from Gemini and HTTP/S. From the past 3 days:

The way we see it, many of the attacks on us are driven either by jealousy or are coming from Microsofters, who simply dislike what we say or expose. All these attacks on us merely vindicate us and tell us what to focus more on. What hurts Microsofters the most is what we ought to do more of.
