Controlled Opposition
The underlying concept is hardly new.

Linux and GNU/Linux have many problems right now, as they always have. Among them: DRM, slop, software patents, Microsoft GitHub (e.g. Rust)...
Looking at social control media "warriors" connected to Microsoft, who always promote Microsoft GitHub, one might easily be tricked into thinking that the only issue is political. We've covered this in "What Microsoft Garrett and Microsoft Lunduke Have in Common" last year and "Microsoft Lunduke is 'Pulling a Garrett' by Turning Technical and Legal Debate Over Rust Into a 'Trans Debate'" earlier this year.
People who want to get ahead (not 'popularity contest' in social control media, where emotion-based brigading is the sole style/repertoire) in pragmatic terms have options, but they will have to focus on the technical side of things, including the topology of dependencies.
If you want to be controlled by GAFAM (or MElon) while calling this "security" or "Safe Space", good luck with the Microsofters. █
