Suggestions That XBox Will be Offloaded by Microsoft, Rather Than Shut Down, Make the False Assumption XBox is Profitable (It's Not, It's a Liability)
5 months ago: Microsoft CEO Says XBox is Not a Sustainable Business
We have now seen several articles saying that Joost van Dreunen, who is a NYU Stern professor, claims Microsoft will offload XBox to some other company in exchange for cash.
Several issues here.
First, when it comes to patents and copyrights (or trademarks like "XBox"), it'll be very hard to ever convert them into money.
Second, XBox as a whole loses money. A lot of money.
Third, it lost all momentum because sales are worse than ever and it's a predictable outcome of this year's changes. The leadership is a "clown show", say insiders.
Microsoft has serious financial troubles. Wall Street lies about it all.
A company that is truly worth trillions would not ask 60,000 of its own workers to leave.
Microsoft is only rich in debt. █
