No Outage Here
As noted 5 days ago, this week we've passed 500 days of uptime.
Main machine:
$ uptime 00:48:42 up 219 days, 16:00, 2 users, load average: 8.37, 8.41, 8.17
Secondary machine:
$ uptime 00:48:59 up 285 days, 6:33, 42 users, load average: 0.19, 0.28, 0.51
219 + 285 = 504.
With Windows this is barely feasible and machines may not even come back online. It's "knock on wood..."
We've decided to cover the Windows outages worldwide some time next week when the dust has settled, seeing that there's no lack of press coverage already (even if a lot of it can be considered misleading spin).
Microsoft seems to have lost control of the narrative. Spin barely scales anymore. There are billions of people unable to make payments and millions whose holiday flights got canceled. They sound off in social control media and Microsoft cannot bribe them all. █
