4,000 Gemini Capsules
LUPA has thankfully recovered (access to the capsule it is on was restored after about 26 hours or a day-long downtime). It now shows that only 59 known capsules still use the Linux Foundation's fake-free (not free) CA and above that it says: "There are 3999 capsules. We successfully connected recently to 2830 of them."
So it's basically one capsule short of 4,000. Let's just call it 4,000 and call it a day. Milestone reached.
Yesterday we got a lot of activity in the form of Gemini requests (150,677 @ techrights.log; 47,870 @ tuxmachines.log; a total of almost 200,000 requests for the day). Irrespective of those 4,000 capsules, some of which may be offline at the moment, Gemini is very useful to us. Many people use it. We also get many requests for the Morse version of the site and its videos. Our latest batch of Gemini links is quite long because there's a lot of new material in there.
It seems extremely likely that Gemini Protocol will still be around and actively used 5 years from now. █
