Sign of Going Mainstream and Growing Interest in GNU/Linux
They're back!
AT the end of last year MakeUseOf ended its almost daily (or bi-daily) GNU/Linux coverage [1, 2, 3]. So we contacted the editorial team for clarifications, but it never bothered to even reply.
About a month ago a sister site of MakeUseOf, How-To Geek, picked the baton and started covering GNU/Linux at least once a day, usually in a positive (pro-Linux, not clickbait) way. So there was clearly some high-level editorial decision, with budget and assignments allotted to the task. Someone there must have decided to significantly increase the volume of GNU/Linux journalism.
Great!
It's nice to see that even some of the same authors (e.g. Bertel King and David Delony) are being assigned work in How-To Geek. They used to be active in MakeUseOf until last year's mysterious de facto 'shutdown' of GNU/Linux coverage. XDA, another sister site of theirs, occasionally covers GNU/Linux.
Whoever is responsible for this resurgence in GNU/Linux coverage, thank you! It has been noticed and appreciated. █
