GNU/Linux Rises to 4% in Ireland, ChromeOS Grows and Android Takes Windows' Lunch

The Irish election is over and statCounter has begun publishing December data (about 14 hours ago). statCounter is an Irish company.

What does statCounter tell us about Ireland? Well, after many Microsoft layoffs there [1, 2, 3] ("expensive" staff) and Windows losing a lot of "market share" [1, 2] we see neat gains for GNU/Linux.

Only about a day ago an article entitled "Linux Mint Topped DistroWatch’s Rankings" got published. So the top distro was "made here in Ireland", not in Finland or the US.

Ireland has something to be proud of. DistroWatch’s top distro. █
