GNU/Linux Back to 5% in 2025
THE year has begun rather well for GNU/Linux (and for Software Freedom too *). "New figures are out," an update stated this morning. "Steam Survey shows GNU/Linux at 2.3%." We added a screenshot of it. That's up from 2.0% to 2.3% in just one month.
What does statCounter show? Windows is down nearly 4% and GNU/Linux up to 5% (rounding up):
That's not counting ChromeOS. Later today we'll look at finer regions/geographies. █

* The FSF raised about 10,000 dollars on January 1st. That's a lot for one day. This seems to have really angered (or struck a nerve with) Microsofters, who continue their hate campaign against the FSF and in favour of monopoly.
