France and Germany are the latest economies in the EU and the GNU/Linux trends there have been encouraging this past year [1, 2]. We've only just noticed that this month in France GNU/Linux is measured at almost 5% and Windows fell sharply this year - to the point where only a quarter of Web requests are seen as coming from Windows.

Adoption of Free software at France has always been a bit ahead than the rest of Europe (the average).
