Security: Shane Wegner & Debian statement of incompetence

Debian's authorship database shows us Shane Wegner was changed to the "Removed" status on 25 June 2025. The snobby people in the Debian Account Managers team didn't give us any "Statement on Shane Wegner" so we can only guess what has happened.

Normally when someone resigns they are changed to the Emeritus status. I resigned from some of my voluntary activities around the time my father died and they spent seven years insulting my family. People don't care about families any more but even if you don't care about my family, if you care about your servers running Debian, it is time to ask these little pricks what the hell is going on with the keyring.

The little pricks did this with Dr Jacob Appelbaum in 2016. They bamboozled people with rumors about abuse. I researched the case and showed that they were leading us down the garden path.

Now it has happened again, they removed somebody and it is radio silence.

Looking in debian-private we can see that Wegner lost his key over 15 years ago.

The little pricks attacked me when my father died but when somebody's key is compromised they are asleep at the wheel.

Subject: [vac] Looking for keysigning Salt Lake City 10-jul - 15-jul
Date: Mon, 28 Jun 2010 17:05:42 -0700
From: Shane Wegner <shane@debian.org>
To: debian-private@lists.debian.org

Hi all,
I will be in Salt Lake on the above mentioned dates. If anyone is available for key exchange, please contact me privately for a meet-up. I am out of the keyring due to a key compromize so looking to get recertified.
Cheers, Shane

Shane Wegner sent that cry for help a few weeks before Frans Pop chose Debian Day for his suicide plan. Boo hoo, the little pricks were in denial about their role in that suicide and they failed to notice the keyring was compromised.

Wegner reminded us again in 2011:

Subject: [vac] keysigning Salt Lake City 29-Apr - 8-May
Date: Tue, 26 Apr 2011 12:01:42 -0700
From: Shane Wegner <shane@debian.org>
To: debian-private@lists.debian.org

Hello,
Subject says it all. Still looking for a keysigner or two to get back into the keyring. I'll be in downtown SLC if anyone wants to get together for keysigning.
Shane

That email was sent right in the middle of the Adrian von Bidder-Senn crisis. The cause of death is secret because Adrian died in Basel, Switzerland and his wife, Diana von Bidder is a politician. Adrian was 32 years old and he died on the same day as our wedding. Why are they covering this up and pretending to be a so-called community and a "family" when some of these deaths appear to be suicides?

They spent over $120,000 in legal fees to stop independent professionals like me from asking questions. But they can't cope without us. They are obsessed with their diversity crusades and pronouns but all those things are irrelevant if the project is compromised due to incompetence.

Remember the case of Edward J Brocklesby? Why did they remove him from the keyring? He was living on the road to GCHQ so they never made a "Statement on Edward Brocklesby". Is this a family or a bunch of snobs?

When Wegner joined in 2000, people were still talking about accepting scanned copies of passports as a proof of identity. How many people on the keyring today can be traced back to a scanned, possibly forged, copy of a passport?

At DebConf25, there is a secret meeting about the scandal but they didn't give any report. The Debian Social Contract is dead.

Please see the chronological history of how the Debian harassment and abuse culture evolved.
