Techrights and Tux Machines Running as Usual During Vacations
Half of August is "done" (or "gone"). Before too long... it'll be autumn. Yesterday I spent more time on flora and fauna (bought half a dozen fish for the tank, worked on new aloe vera plants) while it's still nice and warm, but at the end of this month and next month we plan to travel. Techrights will be running as usual (it always did, except perhaps the year I got married as I didn't spend much or any time online; apparently the same is true for Phoronix, where Michael refers to his wedding day as exceptional in that regard).
Techrights became a life-long responsibility or "duty" (that latter term makes it sound like a burden) almost 2 decades ago. The site is nearly 19 and even back in 2006 or 2007 I told relatives that this was what I wanted to do with my life.
Seeing the sorts of challenges we endured over the years (in 2009 Boycott Novell faced many vicious attacks; even worse than what militants did to Techrights in recent years; we'll definitely pursue compensation for this) it'll be extremely difficult to stop us, even to slow us down. Holidays can still happen, but they don't necessarily mean staying offline all the time.
So basically, expect the site (Techrights, the same for Tux Machines) to carry on throughout the year. No interruptions, maybe temporarily slowdowns. █
