Passion Wins
"For the love of it" sounds like a cliche. It almost sounds inane. But it really is "a thing". People who like (or generally enjoy) what they do have better immunisation (it strengthens the immune system and makes sleep more effective), they are less likely to experience dementia/Alzheimer's based on a new study, and they can work from morning till night doing what they do - and love to do - best. As noted earlier on in the sister site, after lots of "activism" here in the city (Council and also a firm that manages the neighbourhood) we've increased the number of birds we feed to 100+. Most neighbours strongly support this and even participate. It gives a great sense of accomplishment. It wasn't easy. We have had to fight (verbally) some people over it for a very long time; they lost the argument, they lost the battle, and each time they lost their small battle we further increased (doubled) the feeding. The harder they pushed, the more we pushed back. And we won.
The same has been happening with our sites.
They also say "do what you love, the money will come" (we shall see about that). These sites are non-profits, but we are entitled to compensation. █
