GNU/Linux as a Boarding Pass
After some necessary housework and catch-up with news at Tux Machines (45 new pages is unusual for a Sunday) we can rest and reflect. Intercity travel helps illuminate trends in technology - or a lack thereof.
It's often said that without a mobile phone life is very hard. Or that certain things are not possible at all.
In reality, however, things are often different, not harder. Just different.
To get on a coach to London, for instance, we presented Thunderbird on my wife's laptop (no mobile phone). Almost every place - sans one that we saw - still accepts cash, too.
We were pleasantly surprised that unlike in Helsinki, being mostly analogue is still feasible. █
