Unverified Rumours: IBM Cuts Will Continue Another ~10 Days, Managers Will Invite Those Impacted for 1-on-1 Meetings
It's increasingly tense at IBM right now. People fight for their seat (musical chairs) and moments ago someone spoke of "5:1 body count vs. US talent. (read - cheap labour)" because almost all the layoffs seem to impact well-paid Americans (US and Canada).

The media coverage spoke of year's end, so it's definitely not done. There's a long way to go. As somebody put it about an hour ago: "It’s not about sales numbers, top performance, being on leadership development programs, Golden Circle, 100% club, building relevant skills or anything else that sets you apart. I’ve seen the best of the best go… the ones who seem protected often times are mediocre at best and firmly in leadership’s back pocket. The only way to be ‘saved’… or at least spared, is to be a brown nose. Or have trodden on everyone else and sold your soul to get to be the one that makes the decisions. There’s life outside of IBM so don’t fear the ReAper."
