Red Hat is Also Laying Off Staff in India
The narrative of "moving to India" is flawed
Some hours ago someone linked to this article about Red Hat staff being terminated this week. Then someone said: "Everytime Indians get into management everything turns to shyte with mass layoffs and all sent to India."
The comment prior to that said: "He will be replaced by an Indian."
So the latest 2 comments "regarding Red Hat layoffs" are just rants about "Indian" or "Indians".
However, it is unfair a narrative. It's also over-simplistic.
Only minutes ago someone posted this to Microsoft's LinkedIn:
To avoid doubt or speculations, "last day" at IBM typically means "I got pushed out" or "got laid off" [1, 2]. It is choreographed to look consensual or not involuntary.
This isn't some person on a visa, he's based in India and gets a salary based on the rates for India:
Maybe focus on what Red Hat does to all staff, globally, rather than resort to tribalism. Red Hat is a dishonest company.
Red Hat was founded by a humble Canadian (Bob Young), IBM was created by a con man "convicted on extortion" and not-so-closeted Hitler fan. █
