Microsoft Has Practically Given Up on XBox Already
An hour ago: XBox is Dead, What Next?

Don't expect to stop hearing the term "XBox". The term (or brand) "XBox" is probably not going away. Originally, however, XBox clearly referred to an actual console.
Well, the console is going away. It's not due to a "pivot", it is due to failure.
I habitually go to shops in Town (last did so in the past weekend) and XBox has become a rare sight. It's practically invisible already (unlike Playstation) and it's apparently the same in the US.
Looking up some information on sales, they've collapsed to the point where large retailers make the sales impossible (lack of demand led to this) on both sides of the Atlantic:
What might happen next is, XBox will become some "brand" slapped on so-called 'gaming PCs' running Vista 11 and the brand will be used to describe streaming, in order for Microsoft to claim "XBox growth" (not the console).
