Microsoft Lunduke Keeps Distracting From the Real Problems With Rust
Last year: Technical Reasons, Not Politics: With Wayland "it feels a lot like Linux from 20-25 years ago, which is horrendously frustrating, because it feels like we wasted one or two decades of progress and stability" | Why the "Wayland People" and "Rust People" Will Lose Hearts and Minds (Same Reasons)
Rust People love to accuse critics of Rust of "transphobia" or something about "furries"; this narrative suits them fine because it serves to distract from the legal and technical issues (Rust has loads of those).
Last month I published "The Real Problem With Rust is Not "Wokeness" (It Never Was)" and one reader then said aside from "Wokeness", implying that too was a problem albeit not the principal problem (it's related to their love of censorship by CoC, which in turn exists to prevent criticism).
But of course Microsoft Lunduke wants to shift the debate somewhere else, as usual:
Later they say to people that their (or Rust's) critics are all just "Trump fanatics" or "nazis" or whatnot (I saw that attempted against legitimate critics who loathe both). This is what operatives of the Linux Foundation try to say as well.
Put bluntly, unwillingly or fully willingly, Microsoft Lunduke is stigmatising critics. Keep a good distance from this type of nonsense. █
