Turning 20 in 2 Weeks and Upcoming Network Maintenance
The PHP security vulnerabilities have no impact on us. The only update we needed was for IRC bots, which was a straightforward step (took less than a minute). For many webhosts, this is already turning out to be a nightmare. GAFAM hosts, for instance, say the vulnerabilities were already being exploited (or attempts made) before patches became available, not only before they were suitably applied. That's not because of "hey hi" (AI) anything, the issue is bad design. We left PHP behind in 2023.
In two weeks from now, coinciding with our 20-year anniversary, there will be some work on the connection:
Network Maintenance
One of our fibre suppliers providing connectivity between our London Telehouse and London Slough data centres is conducting maintenance to their fibre path due to necessary cable re-routing in London.
As we have diverse fibre connectivity between these locations we do not expect any disruption and traffic will fail over to other routes, but those routes will be at-risk during the maintenance window:
21:00 (GMT) on Friday 6th November 2026
to
06:00 (GMT) on Saturday 7th November 2026.
That ought not interrupt our anniversary. █
