The Techrights Team Makes the Platform Faster
Ensemble of geeks

Our infrastructure people made us aware that "maintenance window" is scheduled for tonight and they will be "upgrading our recursive resolver service".
The infrastructure is already fast - faster than on prior server owners - but there's room for increase in security and performance. One associate, for instance, is still tweaking the Cascading Style Sheets because they impact performance/speed at the client side (rendering).
We always strive for response times in milliseconds and complete rendering in approximately a tenth of a second. It's feasible to achieve this. It works like this from most of the UK.
When the site was born it used WordPress (Shane's choice). WordPress works OK when traffic is moderately small, but it does not scale too well 'upwards'.
With WordPress, our community was struggling to keep up; many CPU cores were required.
WordPress is no longer used on our server. Our developers built an SSG from scratch and it works reliably enough for 99.99%+ uptime. The uptime of our IRC network is similar to it; associates do upgrades to it on occasions and MinceR keeps abuse at bay. █
