The crow on the road
I recently made a trip out to nashville with a couple of bandmates for a show. It was a quick turnaround - drove 8 hours there, played a show, slept overnight, drove 8 hours back. I was anxious about the trip, the usual bathroom anxiety I always struggle with. With the help of an industrial quantity of ginger and saltines, my stomach finally settled down, though. Two hours into the drive back.
I've been asked by a bunch of people if I'd do it again. The crow says no, it was anxiety inducing and I was sick and there was altogether no need to be so uncomfortable and unsafe, and probably, everyone hated me for how needy I was being. But I also don't want to stay home all the time. Maybe I need to figure out how to travel. Or maybe, as I've written endlessly, music just isn't the right motivator. We played a small show in a dingy venue that probably can't really be called a bar. I love playing shows outdoors, in backyards and on porches - these nightlife venue shows I don't like, though. Is that enough?

acting before thinking
One trend with adapting to vim that I have struggled with is that it always requires you to know what you want to do, before you do it.
This sounds like it would be obviously true for all editors, probably all programs, and maybe even every action that you make in every domain, computerised or other, so let me try to explain with an example.

A freewheeling mind
My mind is in overdrive while the clutch is burnt and no torque gets transferred into the rubber. Somehow that's the analogy that describes my mental health the best.
In past years, this hasn't been my struggle. I used to be the kind of autistic girl that can hyperfocus on a single thing for months end. Stable cruising speed, steady and hard to stop in my endevours. Now I am just reving at the redline while standing still.

Migrating back to Gemini
This weekend I felt myself coming down with the sickness. No this is not a Disturbed reference, but good taste. Clearly a person of culture. Anyway, I decided to take it easy and rest up in the hope that my body will fight it off. It's just an annoying cold that is going around, but it seems pretty bad and I don't want it.
So while sitting around doing not much, I decided to look at moving back to Gemini. Probably just as a mirror of what is on Pureblog for the most part on the http web (at least at this stage), but I still wanted something on the less shit version of the internet as well. Most of my blog posts are now migrated over and mostly converted to gemtext formatting from markdown. I'll do the rest over the next week or so.

i used awk today
Perhaps for the first time ever, I identified a use case and quickly solved a problem with a combination of awk and sed.

* Gemini (Primer) links can be opened using Gemini software. It's like the World Wide Web but a lot lighter.
