Technical Coverage of US Elections
When elections are done by computers and decided by computers it becomes a tech issue
This week we shall focus on US elections (midterms) because we know that 1) the elections in the US are targetted by the Kremlin (with or without slop and social control media); 2) election management or voting machines are digitalised and vulnerable (in 2016 the Democrats repeatedly accused Russia of election meddling at a technical level); 3) Putin wants GOP to win in order to help him win against Ukraine and by extension against NATO.
"The U.S. Is Bullying Europe Like Never Before" has just been published by The Atlantic.
The elections have an impact on the entire planet.
As a reader points out, "the bugs and bugdoors in restricted boot weaken the confidence in elections, which thus undermines democracy..."
Regardless of the outcome, we're going to talk about how not to do security and remind people that salaried Microsoft staff is the driving force behind restricted boot in Linux. █
