Richard Stallman (RMS) already refuted this article 5 months before it was published; 17 months later it remains uncorrected
Summary: Call it a "senior moment" or deliberate, malicious fabrication; Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols doesn't seem to be bothered that ZDNet -- a de facto extension of Microsoft's PR agencies -- still carries outright libel under his own name (refuted by RMS himself even before the lynching)
