Kennedy: Searching Geminispace
Summary: We're seeing signs of health and renewed growth in Gemini, which turns 5 next summer; there are at least 2,500 capsules (like sites) currently online, there are many valuable tools, and we're getting requests from ~500 unique addresses each day
MAYBE it's just something
seasonal, maybe it's an accident, but amost every day this past week our Gemini capsule got visited by ~500 unique IP addresses
per day. The capsule serves about 100,000 pages per week, but many are sent back to requests from bots (such as spiders). Either way, we'll soon release the next Gemini Links batch and it's quite bulky. Some people announce that they're making a Gemini "comeback" or announce a future date of a comeback. In terms of the number of capsules, Lupa was not updating
its numbers for about a week and a half, but this was fixed yesterday. It'll probably show well over 2,500 active capsules shortly. There's also a new/improved search engine for Gemini called
Kennedy. It's the fifth Gemini search engine we've stumbled upon and it seems to be the best of the bunch of terms of presentation, functionality, and depth.
