Summary: Now that GNU/Linux is fast becoming a de facto standard (also on the client side, e.g. Steam Deck with Arch Linux/KDE) we can expect trends like those observed in India to spread further (Windows is barely profitable anymore)

IN OUR latest Daily Links we took note (again) of India's fast adoption of GNU/Linux. We've seen several bits of coverage about this in English. In recent months we showed the surging GNU/Linux usage in this country, which boasts the world's largest population (if that's a badge of honour; in any event, its userbase or pool for computer users is vast!) and millions of skilled, hard-working engineers.

Now the TCO of Windows is much higher due to the pervasiveness of ransomware. and its costs both administrative and cleanup."
