Is GIAFAM/GAFAM+I (Intel+IBM) attacking GPL so that it can make more parts of Linux quasi-proprietary?

There is already a lengthy discussion about this (the premise can be partly corroborated by media reports and recent interviews with RHEL cloners):

Basically all of this 'move away from GPL' is so that IBM/RedHat can do what they do best... not give you the source code.
