Despite Moving to Eastern Hardware Designs With GNU/Linux, Russia Remains Least Adoptive Among B.R.I.C.S. When It Comes to GNU/Linux
THE most significant GNU/Linux news of the day is "Russia pivots to Chinese CPUs that aren't subject to US sanctions - Russia's homegrown Linux-based Alt OS now supports Chinese LoongArch chips" (remember what delayed the release of the latest Linux kernel; it was LoongArch).
We've long wonder why, despite a large war against the West, many in Russia apparently remain glued to Windows, maybe trying to lick Microsoft's boots out in the cold and instead getting their tongue stuck on Bill Gates. Russia is by far slowest to abandon Windows, at least among B.R.I.C.S. For comparison's sake. India is at 76% Android and just 14% Windows. This is Russia:
