Canonical Nowadays Shamelessly Behaving Like a Division of Microsoft, Selling Notorious Proprietary Software, Back Doors, and TPM/DRM
Recent: 'Confidential Computing'? More Like a Giant Back Door.
Canonical is actively working against software freedom and privacy.
This is the front page of their blog right now:
Microsoft has basically killed or took over their blog, i.e. the same as in OSI... they are promoting the opposition.
Latest in their ubuntu.com pipeline: (tons of Microsoft lately; it's like Microsoft took over without 'officially' buying Canonical)
TECHRIGHTS is struggling to keep up with Canonical's Microsoft propaganda and marketing because there has been so much of it lately, almost every day if not twice per day. Is Ubuntu being given as a Christmas gift to Microsoft? Did Mark Shuttleworth find a new gainful career at Microsoft, perhaps as an evangelist for "exciting" Azure? Mark Shuttleworth (MS) loves MS, but MS does not love GNU/Linux.
"Canonical is no longer about making money but about pushing Microsoft instead," as an associate of ours put it. See what we wrote yesterday. It was a lot more detailed and contained a lot of context with links.
Any time you download Ubuntu you reinforce this agenda. Choose a different distro made by a different company if you care about GNU/Linux and software freedom, which do matter the most. Don't migrate from Microsoft to Microsoft (shades of Microsoft Novell or Microvell). █
