Wikipedia, Which is Sponsored by Microsoft and Bill Gates, Wants to Add a Code of Conduct (Code of Censorship)
Capture of minds by capturing the financial strings of the messenger [1, 2, 3].
This is the latest:
The vote is open until February 2nd. That's this week.
Of course they will insist that Bill Gates is a very generous person (he pays them) and that Microsoft is doing exceptionally well. Articles about Microsoft are written in Wikipedia by people who get paid by Microsoft to do it. What sort of actual encyclopedia works like that?
Regarding the CoC, it's a censorship mechanism promoted almost exclusively by very large corporations. See for instance the following older articles about the Code of Censorship stance and how it unfolds in practice:
- The Corporate ‘Cancel Culture’ Industry — Part VII: Abusing Online Communities and Networks, Then Using One's Own Abuse to Justify a Code of Censorship (CoC)
- 'Linux' Foundation (Microsoft, IBM et al) is Infecting the GNU Project With Community-Hostile Codes of Censorship
They keep insisting that anyone who opposes a Code of Censorship (CoC) is some kind of a nazi even though the Nazi Party was very keen on censorship. So that's just typical Schismogenesis (misframing the issue).
It typically gravitates towards corporations banning private citizens from criticising them (it's just not marketed as such). Here is Torvalds before Microsoft employees sent him to see therapists: (click to play the video)
I believe full context is provided in this video. It's not just some man giving the finger at random. He is reacting to something. He spoke about this incident about 10 weeks ago at a Linux Foundation event. █
