Early Visit To The Tanana River (publ. 2024-04-09)
The weather here is still chilly, with mostly overcast skies. But we have had a few good days for walks. Here are some photos from the last week of March. It is technically Spring, and a lot of the snow has melted, but there is a lot left, and some days we are seeing light snowfall.

rubus two
without sleep i dream of pressing a body hard against a wall bathed in pattern and light, the color of butter from normandy. the wall stable but chandeliers shake, furnishings rattle, frames and crosses sway on taut, thin wires. my heart stable like the wall, separating inside from outside, protecting the wires and nerves, the murmuring pipes and arteries and veins, the framing and bones.

Fricking English assignment
I have an English assignment that is due on Wednesday (we're monday). And I really don't know how to finish that one.
I initially wrote something that I liked then looked at the instructions again, only to figure out that historical and statistical data counts for nothing. And all my text was about historical and statistical data.

Exploring Picotron
If that sounds at all similar to the PICO-8 fantasy console, that's because it is! Picotron is made by the same developer and in some ways feels like a sequel to PICO-8 (while also feeling quite different in other ways).
Now if you haven't heard the term "fantasy console" before, imagine a retro game emulator made for a system that never existed. Many of the popular fantasy consoles I'm aware of come with integrated game development tools that encourage experimentation and sharing.

Citation on Gemini
Oh, wow, that is bull. Not into it. I’m normally more into the SA than the BY part of CC-BY-SA, since CC often has kinda ugly rules for attribution, but that is going too far in the other direction.
I like the email-inspired style of a link above the quote and ending the link with a colon. (Not into scroll’s idea of putting the attribution under the quote.)

I'm back on Gemini!
I randomly started thinking about my experience on Gemini and decided to come back. I think I'm going to try to move more of my stuff here on Gemini because I really like it.
However I enter in the the exact same problem I encountered a while ago in 2022 when I was still using Gemini: I spend more time trying to organise my capsule than actually doing stuff in it. And it can become very boring and annoying to do so.

HamsterCMS updates and also hosting
Today there is big news - the CMS has received an interesting cosmetic update, now the “page” and “save as” menus show only the information the user needs so as not to confuse. for example it was below ./files/index for the page index it became just an index, it looks nicer and more convenient.

Why I Timestamped My Journal
Before I talk about timestamping, I just want to make clear that this entry does not constitute a return to writing. I'm still taking a step backÂą from writing. I'm only writing this entry to give context for the new timestamp I created.
