GNU/Linux Growing at Vista 11's Expense
YESTERDAY we wrote about GNU/Linux rising sharply in India and we wanted to know at whose expense or what goes down to make way for GNU/Linux. Looking at this page or underlying data, Vista 11 is down this month, relative to other versions of Windows. GNU/Linux up by 1% overall. Windows in general is also down by about 1.6%. So it's tempting to deduce many people who got PCs with Vista 11 preinstalled are deleting it, only to replace it with GNU/Linux. With ample data (India), there's less room for error and some people tell the press stories to that effect. █
