Funny Thing
Art is self expression, some tragic attempt to communicate the nature of your existence to someone else and make them and you feel less alone.

Art theft spinning the heart around a wire
Computational differentiability features are cool and all, but I just get so distracted at the prospect of stealing art that once that’s brought into the conversation I can’t think of anything else. I just love stealing art so much. Not only breaking into art galleries and grabbing stuff, but also torrents, image search, photographing paintings, even looking at them and then later thinking about them in my own imagination… I just can’t get enough! For example, my head is full of that “Christina’s world” Andrew Wyeth painting right now. I can look at it in my mind’s eye. Or that John Romita and Mickey Demeo splash page when Parker throws the Spider-Man costume in the garbage can. Haven’t seen it for years but it’s made an indelible impression on my mind.

its cold round here
as most of the internet i interact with seems to be on the northern hemisphere, I realized our seasons are kind of backwards. over here, it's started to get chilly, if you get up early it's still dark out and we're starting to cook more soups and stews and other kinds of hot foods (which are, in my opinion, the best kind of food, especially soups. god I love soup)

miming mentor!
I have recently decided i want to learn miming, physical comedy is something i have always enjoyed and i have always held a big respect for mimes!
Being physically disabled and neurodivergent, my learning i know is going to be weird. what started as talking to a newer friend of mine about it turned into them offering to mentor me! they are a clown and run a clown school (which i will forever think is so cool)

News And Links (publ. 2024-04-11): Physicist attempts to model universe without dark matter
While I'm not advocating for his model, this is an interesting case of dark matter being left out when different assumptions are used. Also it is interesting that the physicist uses some kind of "tired light" theory.

Manual Scripts
This may strike some as foolish; why copy a book by hand when printing can do the same much faster and with fewer errors? Why walk when a car can get you there so much quicker? Why ed when an IDE towers you over the code like "Algernon, at the peak"?
Cultural tradition and aesthetics can be blamed for some hidebound behavior, or that given the depth of the Chinese writing tradition there were some books simply not popular enough for the printing press. This goes by the name of the "long tail" these days, the other side of which (and more condescending) being the "internet shallows". Such artists as Thoreau and Bashō were prone to walkabout; using a car or some other technological terror would be missing the point.
