[Meme] Software in the Public Interest (SPI), Inc, Values Articles of Daniel Pocock at ~$5,000 Each (and Fails to Hide the Facts)
TODAY we are laughing, not grieving.
The SPI took the bait, using a lot of money (SPI takes money from Microsoft), just to hijack domains with 1-2 articles in them (articles that already got reproduced elsewhere). Where's the accountability for this overt misuse of funds by SPI?
Is it worth spending $5,000 to censor one article that is already available elsewhere, under no trademark-related risk? More importantly, does SPI realise it's staining Debian's record on freedom? 'Nazi' comparisons become more appropriate.
Oh, look ova' there!
Is the Board of SPI familiar with how the Web works? Should they not be paying cash-strapped developers (e.g. Gentoo developers) rather than harassing, overpriced lawyers? █
