[Meme] Security is Not a Failure to Boot (or Illusion of Security Due to 'Unknown' System)
The top row (above) shows a boy that lets Microsoft control him. Even if he himself controlled the "secure" boot, that would not constitute security, just an illusion of it. This twisted mentality of fake 'security' has spread to the application layer, with terms like "sideloading" leveraged to mischaracterise users installing/running programs of their choice.
Guess what the 'Linux' Foundation promotes for booting or check the list of top sponsors to figure out why. IBM is a huge part of the problem and in that regard Red Hat is in Microsoft's camp. Red Hat is largely responsible for this mess (its own "Novell moment") and it continues this widespread harm with sigStore (shoehorned by 'Linux' Foundation, a partner of Bill Gates [1, 2]). █
