Gemini Protocol (or Geminispace) Uses More Advanced Transport Encryption Than About a Third of the Web
Most of the Web isn't secure and isn't meant to be (it is accessed using browsers that are effectively, functionally indistinguishable from malware)
If this survey is anything to go by, less than a year ago not even two-thirds of Web sites (it does not say if those were randomly picked) supported TLS v1.3:
For comparison's sake, in Gemini Protocol at the time, TLS 1.3 was overwhelmingly supported:
It was already adopted by about 80% of capsules back in 2021.
Today Lupa says: "97 % of the capsules use TLS 1.3, 3 % use TLS 1.2."
So there. Geminispace has more advanced encryption than the Web, or at least newer (which does not necessarily mean better). █
