purposeful prose
I write. I like writing. It's what I DO.
Volunteer work, as rewarding as the *work* is, cannot be sustained with the folks at this facility. bad blood and bad vibes have me continually villifying myself as the anti-social fiend that I am. I am ok with this (all three - villainy, anti-social mind/demeanor, and returning to writing).
So, as of today, a nice Monday, I am returning to the task/lifestyle of writing things. And there, too, I have standards to live up to ("I wrote a nice sentence, I should write it a bit "prettier"/nicer") etc., that I am all to happy to meet - as they are standards for/of myself. Integrity.

single man
First night as a single man.
Weird day. Persona 4 track kept playing in my head, the one in the purple room, some churchy minor vocals. Packing up for my ex-wife. My daughter woke up late:
"You're helping mom to move? That's weird"
I was really glad she, of all the people, understood the weirdness of it all.
The move went fast, 3 cars full of stuff and 2 pick up. She had so much stuff in the house, I realize now.

Team radio 📻🏁
The second half of the F1 season looks like it won't be a walk over for Verstappen, so it might be entertaining. But never mind the big picture. Let's look at the minutiae.

Local storage-based notepad
One of the most useful tools I've been using in the last year is a straight-forward but really useful local notepad. It's uses vary from being a place to take quick notes while on the phone, first drafts of things that have bad web UIs and notes during Discord or video chats. I have it as a pinned tab and I've been surprised at how much I've used it as a staging area for content and how little it matters that it isn't straight-forward to sync with other instances.

normal web
let me say something - browsing the Web. I like browsing the Web. Sites, small sites, personal sites, static sites, tech sites, writing sites, blogs, journals, logs and on and on. Browsing the Web is fun. More importantly, browsing the Web is POSSIBLE, which was basically not the case 5+ years ago. I don't mean going from site-to-site - that's always been available, I mean going from links, to blogrolls, to webrings, to dense inner-world websites/services (:cough: Nightfall City :cough:), simplistic portfolios, a photo with a bio, a life journal rife with manifestos and meaning.
