Calling "Nazi" and "Right Wing" Everyone Who Does Not Agree With You (Even Leftists Whose Views on Some Issues Slightly Differ From Yours)
Oil money has become exceptionally notorious for takeover of online platforms and institutions/NGOs (using them to incite society inwards, not upwards)
HAVING just mentioned the EFF, let's be clear that it is corporatist, not leftist. Those are not the same thing and the largest corporations tend to be right wing (look beyond the shallow rhetoric) because it suits them better financially (that includes Microsoft [1, 2]). Think of deregulation, tax avoidance, military contracts (endless funnel of cash from taxpayers) and so on...
A longstanding - and hardly novel - divisive trap/tactic (like sectarian wars) seeks to split the population along(side) some vague "identity" lines like "black" and "white" (e.g. "black lives matter", "master"/"slave") rather than class (or wealth/privilege), which transcends racial or national lines. Empire-building pundits have long realised the power of such methods.
We always try to reject and discard (if possible) the notion of "wings" and instead talk about the issues in plain English - no dog whistles or race/gender scapegoating. People sometimes commit crimes, irrespective of their gender and/or race. Pointing out that they commit such crimes isn't "sexist" or "racist" (or even "transphobic"). Companies like to obscure that by baiting critics. Empire builders have "mastered" such tricks; if you criticise the boss, they'll try to colour it as an act of intolerance. Heck, even condemning an actual crime may seem "racist" or "sexist". This is how the corruption can be broadcast; then people don't want to hear about it or talk about it. Mozilla likes to do that.
The corporate/mainstream media seems to be spending a lot of time trying to divide the population; of course it later blames Russia for doing this (yes, Russia does this too, but Western media is the bigger and more influential culprit).
The US election is coming up soon. We won't say much about it except perhaps the "Tech" aspects (such as voting machines or policies) because, unlike the EFF, we're not a bunch of political buffoons trying to leverage decades' worth of the EFF's reputation (with many individual donors) to advance some unrelated (to technology) policies. Like SPLC, ORG, and several other (formerly OK) organisations, the EFF drifted to the agenda of extreme people who lack an interest/passion for the original missions of these organisations. █
