Mass Layoffs at Mozilla Announced During US Elections
Maybe nobody will notice?
Mozilla is about to lay off about 30% of staff [1-4], but don't worry. The future of the company is buzzwords and hype. Yes, they've fully transitioned for spam, scams, and hooey. They are both a privacy champion and privacy violator (somehow!), they support "Open Source" and DRM (contradictory concepts), and they compete with Google while defending Google from regulators (follow the money!), so we're in good hands.
Correct?
The blunders at Mozilla made a few people very rich. As for the browser, Firefox, they have made it a lot less freedom-respecting over time. From a purely commercial perspective, this did not work (users ran away), hence the mass layoffs.
If you treat your users (or "customers") like cattle, better change career and work in some barn. █
