Slop About "Linux" Came Only From One Slopfarm This Weekend

Published yesterday: Days Without Slop About "Linux"

Another day has passed with no LLM slop found in our RSS feeds*, nor has the Serial Slopper (Brian Fagioli) bothered. The sole example (or examples) we've found of "linux" (or "Linux" or whatever; we scan various related terms) slop is in one single slopfarm that Google News syndicates:

Slop or fake: Linux Proposes Runtime Standby ABI for Modern Standby-Like Power Savings

Slop or fake: Linux 6.19 Kernel Fixes Scheduler Regression, Delivers Performance Gains

Slop or fake: Nvidia 590 Driver Drops Pascal GPU Support, Breaks Arch Linux Systems

Slop or fake: Why Stop Linux Distro Hopping: Embrace Stability and Productivity

Slop or fake: CachyOS Plans 2026 Server Edition: Optimized Arch Linux for NAS and Servers

Slop or fake: Ubuntu 2025: Rust Powers Security Upgrades and AI Hardware Optimization

Well, we've got good reasons to believe that as 2026 begins there won't be much slop. The general karma of it has changed a lot in recent months. People are more afraid than excited to introduce slop in sites. Slop dooms sites, it doesn't create sites; once caught, sites get blacklisted mentally or technically. For good!

Public opinion has changed and it still changing. It's changing in a positive way.

* To put this in perspective, 12 months ago there was loads of it. That was disconcerting. We needed something like "Slopwatch" to keep abreast of that mess.
