The Techrights Archives (Before Moving to Our Very Own Static Page Generators to Lessen Dependence on WordPress)
THIS site is turning 17 almost exactly a month from now and it has basically "shelved" all the WordPress stuff. We made this decision in summer of 2022 and since then we've developed, tested and progressively improved our very own static page generator, which is available via Git. There is one version of it for Tux Machines and another for this site, but they're very similar.
Today we made further improvement to the appearance (style) of the archive of the WordPress pages. It's not final, but it looks something like this (corresponding page for reference):
The wiki pages will hopefully be consistently styled, as will this new site (that you are seeing right now). We want to have a more unified "look" and experience, but that takes time. There's plenty of technical debt. The style changes, as shown above, apply to over 38,000 pages (any change affects them all in one fell swoop), so plenty of testing will be required. This can take time.
In the meantime we'll try to also produce new material and publish relevant articles. A lot of the heavy lifting happens behind the scenes, but it'll become available in Git, over time... █
