Mass Layoffs at Microsoft Are Back, as We Expected in Late October
IN recent months we said that Microsoft was 'batching together' the layoffs for late October, i.e. right before the faked "results". This way it can prevent the media speaking about Microsoft layoffs constantly, or at least every day/week/month. It's always like this.
Well, here we go again, this time it's "3% of workforce", based on the official figures (not including contractors, temps etc.) and we're talking about LinkedIn staff. The real number is probably a lot higher and remember the hiring freeze. Almost 700 are "officially" gone, but the real number is higher.
Sadly, a lot of the media coverage of this is either in plagiarism sites (bots) or Microsoft sites, so bias is to be expected. It gets relayed from one site to the next.
Here's Microsoft's longtime media mole Jordan Novet, a Bill Gates-bribed "news" site, a Microsoft-controlled, Microsoft-run site, and its mirror, spinning the situation - an act of "crisis management". It's like Microsoft is writing the news about itself.
We also spotted factual errors. It is not the second round of layoffs at LinkedIn but at least the third of the year, contrary to what's said in [1, 2]. Belittling the scale of the layoffs this year is just misreporting. The British media wants us to think this is the first time. How misleading. Another Microsoft boosting site mislabels the layoffs; "restructuring" is pure spin for what's a hiring freeze and mass layoffs, likely resulting in many thousands of workers culled, never to be replaced. █
